This series consists of general correspondence of William Wyatt Bibb, 1818 Dec. - 1820 July. Includes informal letters from Bibb's friends Charles Tait, Nathaniel Macon and William Rufus King. Contains information on Cahaba, Ala., the port of Blakely, Ala., the state's finances, the Tombeckbe Bank, Ala., the milita and arms shipments and state and national politics. Also includes an authorization, 1820 Jan. 12, reportedly for the first money to be paid out of the governor's contingent fund.
